Camon 30 Premier

The Tecno Camon 30 Premier is the camera-first phone in Tecno's 2024 Camon range: a 6.77-inch 144 Hz AMOLED, a Dimensity 8200 Ultimate, and a 50 MP main camera with a second 50 MP ultrawide. Tecno sells it as a portrait and selfie phone more than as a benchmark phone. That is a useful way to read the sheet. Spark would be the cheaper everyday sibling; Pova would be the battery sibling. Premier on a Camon means the higher camera specification of that generation, not a Phantom flagship.

People search for 'Techno' phones. The company spells it Tecno. This page is that brand. Camon is the line; Premier sits above the plain Camon 30 and the Camon 30 Pro. Those three names are different cameras and different chipsets. If a listing only says Camon 30, it is not this phone.

Dimensity 8200 Ultimate sits well above Infinix Note 40 Pro silicon and well below Snapdragon 8 Elite flagships. It is enough for high refresh-rate UI and 1080p gaming; it is not the chip you buy to win a GPU chart. 12 GB of RAM is generous in this price band and helps keep camera software and apps in memory. Storage is 256 GB or 512 GB with no microSD slot, so the tier you buy is the tier you keep.

The 5000 mAh battery with 70 W charging matches other Transsion mid-rangers. Peak watts need a compatible charger; a random USB-C brick will be slower. IP53, where listed, is splash resistance — rain and a wet counter, not a pool. There is no 3.5 mm jack on this configuration. NFC is present on the units we describe.

HiOS is Tecno's Android layer on Android 14. Like XOS, it is busier than Pixel Android and comes with a shorter update promise than Samsung's upper A-series. If you keep phones until they physically die, that gap matters more than 144 Hz versus 120 Hz. Tecno has almost no official US storefront, so a Camon in North America is typically an import. Against the Infinix Note 40 Pro, this Camon is the more ambitious camera and chipset in the Transsion family. The Note is the simpler large-battery daily driver. Do not treat them as identical phones with different logos. Charging watts are in the same family; the cameras and the Dimensity parts are not.

Against a Pixel 9a-class phone, Google wins on camera processing consistency and update years; Tecno wins on refresh rate and charging watts at a lower typical street price in the markets where both are sold. The Pixel is the better five-year object. The Camon is the better 144 Hz, 70 W object.

Against a Realme GT or numbered Pro of the same season, you are mostly choosing which store you trust and which Android skin you can live with. Realme often publishes clearer global SKUs; Tecno often undercuts on camera hardware at the same money in Africa and South Asia.
