Vivo
Vivo is one of the highest-volume phone makers in the world and one of the least known in Western markets, because like Oppo it does not sell in the United States. It is a major presence in China, India, and Southeast Asia. Vivo shares a corporate parent with iQOO, which it operates as a separate performance-focused brand, and it sits in the same broad corporate family as Oppo and OnePlus — which is why charging technology and camera partnerships often look similar across all of them.
The line-up splits into three main branches. The X series is the flagship line, where the camera hardware and the Zeiss optics partnership live; X Pro models add periscope telephoto cameras and the largest sensors Vivo ships. The V series is the upper mid-range, marketed heavily on selfie cameras and design in South Asian markets. The Y series is the budget volume line. iQOO phones, sold separately, pair flagship chipsets with gaming-oriented cooling and cheaper displays or cameras.
Vivo competes on camera hardware, charging speed, and display quality, and its flagship camera systems have been genuinely competitive with the best from Samsung and Xiaomi for several generations. The Zeiss branding on X-series models covers lens coatings and colour tuning; as with Leica on Xiaomi and Hasselblad on Oppo, it is a partnership rather than a claim that Zeiss manufactured the camera module.
Funtouch OS is Vivo's Android layer in most markets, with OriginOS used in China. As with other Chinese-market brands, the domestic ROM ships without Google services and the global ROM includes them, so an imported Chinese unit is a materially different software product even when the hardware matches. Regional band support varies and there is no US retail channel, so any Vivo phone in North America is a grey import.

Charging watts on an X Pro are the supported peak with a matching brick. Carton contents in India, China, and a later export SKU can differ, so the number on the table is not a promise that a 90 W charger is in the box you open. Wireless charging, when listed, is the same rule: announced support, not a guess that every Vivo has a coil. We list Vivo phones in the same spec groups as every other brand on this site.
