The Oppo Find X8 Pro is a 2024 Find-series flagship: a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, 16 GB of RAM, and four 50 MP rear cameras with Hasselblad colour tuning. A 5910 mAh battery with 80 W wired and 50 W wireless charging puts it in the high-capacity, fast-charging group alongside the OnePlus 13.

The chipset is the first thing worth explaining, because it is the most common question about this phone. The Dimensity 9400 is MediaTek's flagship part, and it competes directly with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite rather than sitting below it. MediaTek spent years as the budget alternative and that reputation has outlived the reality; at the top of the range the two are genuinely comparable. What differs is the modem and the band support, which is exactly where regional variation bites — so compare modem requirements for your carrier, not brand loyalty.

The camera array is four 50 MP sensors including a periscope, which places it with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in the evenly-matched-sensor group: ultrawide and telephoto shots hold their quality against the main camera rather than falling off a cliff. Hasselblad branding covers colour science and tuning. It does not mean medium-format sensors, Hasselblad-manufactured optics, or anything about the hardware — it is a partnership on how the images look, and we list megapixels exactly as Oppo announced them.

The 5910 mAh battery is the second-largest in our catalog, and 80 W wired charging refills it quickly. Combined, that is a phone that comfortably clears a heavy day and recovers fast, which is the practical case for the whole Chinese-flagship class over Apple and Google equivalents. ColorOS 15 is the Android layer and it will not feel like Pixel Android. It is feature-dense and configurable, and its default background-app management is more aggressive than stock Android — which can delay notifications from messaging apps until you change the settings. This is a known adjustment rather than a defect, but it catches people who switch from a Pixel or an iPhone.

The most important practical caveat for this phone is the SKU. Oppo has no US retail presence, so any unit in North America is an import. Find-series band support differs substantially by region, and a model bought in one market can lose 5G or some LTE bands in another. Confirm the exact model number against your carrier's bands before buying, and expect no local warranty service on a grey import.

Not the right pick if you require iOS, or if you are in the United States, where there is no official channel and every unit is an import with uncertain band support and no local warranty. Also not ideal if you want the cleanest possible Android — ColorOS is at the heavily-customised end of the spectrum, and its notification handling needs configuring. If you want this hardware philosophy with easier availability, the OnePlus 13 is the closely related alternative.

Against the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, these are the two camera-first flagships in our catalog and they are closely matched. Oppo has the larger battery; Xiaomi has faster wired charging and a higher-resolution QHD+ panel. Both use a photography-brand partnership for colour tuning rather than hardware.

Against the OnePlus 13 — a corporate sibling sharing platform engineering — the OnePlus charges faster and is far easier to buy in Western markets. The Find X8 Pro answers with a fourth camera and a periscope. Software is increasingly similar between the two.

Against the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Oppo competes on battery and charging and loses on availability, service, and update commitment. In markets where Oppo sells officially it is the better value; in markets where it does not, the comparison is academic.
