Overview

The Sharp AQUOS wish6 is a basic Android phone announced on 5 August 2026 for Japan and Taiwan. Sharp's global press release says sales begin sequentially from mid-September 2026. There is no day-of-month and no published price, so those fields stay blank or month-level on this page.

wish is Sharp's durable everyday line. The wish6 uses a 6.6-inch HD+ LCD (720 × 1612) at up to 120 Hz and about 1000 nits with Outdoor View on. That is not an AMOLED flagship panel. It is a bright, simple screen aimed at outdoor readability. The body is about 165 × 76 × 8.3 mm and 189 g, with metal in the frame for bending strength.

The Japan specification Sharp published is modest on purpose: MediaTek Dimensity 6300, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, microSD support, a 50.1 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front camera, and a 5000 mAh battery. Android 16 ships on the device. Sharp's Japanese materials cite two OS upgrades and four years of security patches.

The features that make an AQUOS wish a Japanese phone are still here: IPX5 / IPX8 / IPX9 water resistance, IP6X dust, MIL-STD-810H shock claims, a 3.5 mm jack, nano-SIM + eSIM, NFC, and Osaifu-Keitai / FeliCa on the Japan spec. Colours are SORA, KINU, and SUMI. SoftBank has said it will carry a corporate wish6 in SUMI from the same mid-September window.

This is not a worldwide launch. Sharp named Japan and Taiwan. We do not add the US, India, or the UAE. Importing one for the jack and the IP rating means you also import a Japanese or Taiwanese band set.

AllMobileSpecs does not sell Sharp phones. Images are illustrative. We will fill the price when Sharp or a carrier publishes one.

4 GB of RAM is the Japan figure Sharp printed. Virtual RAM expansion, if a carrier enables it, is software. It is not 8 GB of physical memory. We list 4 GB because that is the hardware number.

Who it is for

A fit if you are in Japan or Taiwan, you want a tough 5G phone with a headphone jack and FeliCa, and you do not need flagship RAM. A poor fit if you wanted AMOLED, 12 GB of RAM, or a phone that will be on a US carrier list. Also a poor fit if you edit 4K video on the phone — HD+ LCD and 4 GB are not that machine.

How it compares

Against a Pixel or Galaxy A-series, the wish6 loses on display type, RAM, and update years. It wins on the jack, microSD, and the Japanese durability-and-payments bundle if you actually live in Japan.

Against an Infinix Hot or Tecno Spark, the wish6 is the more explicitly basic, carrier-friendly object. Transsion phones usually have more RAM at the same money in Africa and South Asia; they do not have FeliCa.

Against the previous AQUOS wish, Sharp's own note is a brighter panel and the same idea: a large, simple, durable phone, not a new camera generation.

If you are shopping from outside Japan or Taiwan, treat this page as a specification reference, not as a buying guide. There is no official US or India wish6 in Sharp's August 2026 note. Grey imports carry the usual band and warranty costs.

Questions

Yes. Sharp's 5 August 2026 press release names the product, the Japan spec, and a mid-September start in Japan and Taiwan.

Sharp said mid-September 2026, staggered by carrier and retailer. We do not invent a Friday.

Japan and Taiwan. Those are the only markets Sharp named.

Not published. The price field is empty on purpose.

No. Informational listing only.

Yes, on the Japan specification Sharp published. That is one of the reasons wish exists.

Sharp did not announce a US model. Do not assume Japanese 5G bands match a US prepaid list.
